Welcome to Morpurgo Class – Year 6.
We are a busy, friendly class. Mrs Morris is our teacher and Mr Corbett and Mrs Wilson are our amazing teaching assistants.
Year 6 is a very important year and we must be fantastic role-models to the rest of the school. This involves carrying out important jobs and setting a good example for others. Year 6 responsibilities include: ringing the bell at the correct times, giving out the registers, distributing letters and ensuring that the youngest children in the school are safe and happy. We also have the opportunity to become Prefects and Head Boy or Head Girl. This is an excellent opportunity that is only available to Year 6 students and we have already seen some outstanding Prefect presentations.
Each term will be based on a different topic, as detailed below:
Autumn term – The Bard
Spring term – Mayan/Castaway
Summer term – The Time of your Life
The international link with Spain will continue from last year as we are really looking forward to learning more about Spain, particularly Spanish school life.
You will be pleased to hear that we will be going on a trip each term this year. News of our Autumn and Spring term trips will be available soon. Our school journey to PGL will take place in the Summer term.
We have high expectations and love to see children producing work that they are really proud of.
We have a Morpurgo photo gallery on this website, where you will be able to see a collection of photographs taken throughout the year, of activities and lessons that we have enjoyed.
