Welcome to Jeffers Class!
Miss Haran is our teacher and Mrs Hansen is our fantastic teaching assistant. We are a bright and friendly class, who always try our best.
Our class is named after the author Oliver Jeffers. He has written lots of exciting children’s books such as: ‘Stuck’, ‘Lost and Found’ and ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’.
Our classroom is full of surprises- it is colourful, vibrant and full of interactive learning resources. Our mornings will be set aside for English, Maths and French and the afternoons for other fantastic subjects such as: Science, PE, Computing and R.E.
This year, we will be exploring three different topics which are:
Autumn Term – We Will Rock You
Within this topic, we will be learning all about the Stone Age. We will also become Rock Detectives in our Science lessons, where we will be exploring the different types of rocks and soils.
Spring Term – Jewel of the Nile
You can probably guess that this topic will cover the Ancient Egyptians! We will be decoding hieroglyphics and will learn about mummies, Gods and Goddesses and lots more!
Summer Term – All Creatures Great and Small
This topic will look at animals from all over the world and will be exploring all the different continents.
The children in Jeffers Class can receive ‘Toucan Tokens’ for their efforts in lessons, excellent behaviour, and going ‘above and beyond.’ When a child has collected fifteen, they can choose a special reward from our fantastic reward box.
Jeffers Class will also have the opportunity to take part in swimming lessons.
We have a Jeffers gallery on this website, where you will be able to see a collection of photographs taken throughout the year, of activities and lessons that we have enjoyed.
Take a look at our curriculum maps to see more about what we are learning this year!
