Welcome to Browne Class!
Mrs Cooke is our teacher and Mr Corbett is our fantastic teaching assistant. We are a bright and friendly class and enjoy learning lots of new things everyday. Our class motto is always try your best.
Our class is named after Anthony Browne. He has written lots of exciting children’s books such as: ‘Gorilla’, ‘Voices in the Park’ and ‘The Tunnel’.
Our classroom is full of surprises – it is colourful, vibrant and full of interactive learning resources. Our mornings will be set aside for English, Maths and French and the afternoons for other fantastic subjects such as Science, PE, Computing and R.E.
This year, our learning will be cross-curricular and we will look at three main topics which are:
Autumn Term – We Will Rock You
Within this topic we will be learning all about the Stone Age. We will also become Rock Detectives in our Science lessons, where we will be exploring the different types of rocks and soils.
Spring Term – Jewel of the Nile
You can probably guess that this topic will cover the Ancient Egyptians! We will be decoding hieroglyphics and will learn about mummies, Gods and Goddesses and lots more!
Summer Term – All Creatures Great and Small
This topic will look at animals from all over the world and we will be exploring all the different continents.
The children in Browne class can receive starts for their efforts in lessons, excellent behaviour, and going ‘above and beyond.’ When a child has reached the top of their ladders, they can chose a special reward from our fantastic reward box.
Browne class will also have the opportunity to take part in swimming lessons.
We have a Browne gallery on this website, where you will be able to see a collection of photographs taken throughout the year, of activities and lessons that we have enjoyed.
Take a look at our curriculum map to see more about what we are learning this year!
