Welcome to Geraghty Class
Welcome to Year 2. This is Geraghty class and our teacher is Miss Moir. Our teaching assistant is Miss Shipley.
Our class is named after the author Paul Geraghty, who wrote many children’s books based on animals such as: Solo the Penguin, Rotten and Rascal, and the Mischievous Dinosaurs.
Our classroom is full of surprises. It is colourful, vibrant and full of interactive learning resources. This term, our mornings will be set aside for Phonics, Maths and English and the afternoons for many other exciting subjects such as: Computing, PE, Science and many more.
Our topic this term is “Plane Talking.” We will be looking into the life of Amy Johnson and how she became a significant, famous figure. We have lots of creative and exciting lessons planned for the topic and will engage the children throughout, encouraging them to want to find out more. We will also be looking at “Living Things and their Habitats” in our Science topic, where we will be exploring what makes something living and the different habitats they need to live in.
The children can make their way across dinosaur footprints for good behaviour, showing politeness, manners and respect to children and adults in the class, trying their best and for going above and beyond. Once they are on the 10th footstep, they will get to pick a prize from the prize box!
Thank you for reading about our class. We have a Geraghty gallery on this website, where you will be able to see a collection of photographs taken throughout the year, of activities and lessons that we have enjoyed.

Very pleased with my son’s progression in his speech, as this was my biggest concern coming into a new school.
