Welcome to year two Blake Class!
Blake Class is named after an author called Quentin Blake. We have lots of books by Blake in our classroom including: “Angelica Sprocket’s Pockets” and “Mrs Armitage and the Big Wave”. Our teacher is Miss Cosstick and our teaching assistant is Miss Smith.
Our classroom is bright and colourful and the displays show everyone what we have been learning. Our displays also help us with our learning. Our important displays include: English, Maths and Science working walls; a display about our topic; a target display; phonics display; a castle themed reading corner; a birthday display and useful adjectives and conjunctions to support us with our writing. We also have an individual behaviour chart system and we use marbles in a jar as a whole class behaviour system.
We do Phonics, English and Maths every morning and different subjects in the afternoon, including PE, RE, Music, Science, Computing, PSHCE and more! We also read at least once a week to an adult during Guided Reading.
In Science, we are learning about animals and their habitats, plants and materials.
Our class is linked with a class in India. We are looking forward to sending them letters and hearing back from them. We would like to know what life is like in India and tell them what life is like in England!
In our class, we always try our best and look after our classroom and each other. We have a Blake gallery on this website, where you will be able to see a collection of photographs taken throughout the year, of activities and lessons that we have enjoyed.
