Welcome to the Friends of Beddington Park Primary School Page

The present group of ‘Friends’ were formed in 2006 and meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in the school staff room. We consist of parents, carers and staff members who work together to raise money to enhance the facilities already offered by our school.

Since we have been together, we have raised enough money to buy a Wooden Train for the Key Stage One area of the Playground and a Wooden Fort for the Key Stage Two Children. Both pieces of equipment have been hugely popular and it is very rewarding to see the children playing and enjoying these facilities.

At Christmas time we paid for a small theatre group to come into school to perform ‘Cinderella’ which the children loved and we also give each class a yearly donation which is put towards school trips.

We are now saving up to buy a reading scheme for the newly refurbished school library.

We hold two big events each year – these being a Summer and Christmas Fair as well as a Disco each term for the children. Another regular event is the Class Cake Sales whereby each class takes it in turn to provide cakes to sell. The profits are then divided equally between the class teacher to buy whatever their class needs at the time (ie books, games for wet play etc) and the F of BPPS.

We are a small group always looking for new members, so if you are interested in joining us please come along to our next meeting. We would love to welcome you!!

Alternatively, if you find it difficult to attend a meeting, there are always little jobs that can be done from home if you have half an hour to spare e.g. wrapping gifts, preparing raffle tickets etc.
