Nothing is more important than the safety and security of your child.
At Beddington Park Primary, we take the responsibility for the safeguarding of all of our children very seriously. We always remember, value and respect the trust that you place in us when you drop your child off at school in the morning and throughout the day we will stop at nothing to ensure that your child remains safe, secure and looked after at all times. It is a privilege to teach your child and a privilege to ensure their safety.
Feel free to read our full safeguarding procedures, detailed here in our Child Protection Policy:
All staff, governors and volunteers at our school undergo regular security checks. These include the prerequisite to have undergone a full, enhanced police records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Full, accredited child protection training is undertaken annually across the school, and all staff are also required to undertake additional child protection training prior to starting with us. The school operates a clear, colour-coded system of badges to indicate the level of clearance afforded to any visitors to our school.
The role of ‘Designated Safeguarding Lead’ (DSL) is the most senior position connected with safeguarding in any school. DSLs must have received a very high level of bespoke safeguarding training. It is a minimum requirement for any school to have one DSL to supervise the safeguarding across the organisation. At Beddington Park Primary, we have no less than seven members of staff trained to this exacting standard. Acting Head Teacher, Mrs Arnold, personally oversees the safeguarding of all children, and operates as the DSL for the whole school. She has eight Deputy DSLs (all also fully DSL qualified). In this way, no child, teacher or situation is ever far away from the assistance and guidance of DSL at any time.
If you have any concerns about the safety or welfare of a child at Beddington Park Primary School, you should relay these without delay to any one of the five, fully trained Designated Safeguarding Leads. They are:
